Alexis Yarringtons Inspiring Experience at the NSW Young Dairy Network Conference

At just 15 years old, Alexis Yarrington from Wingham, NSW, is already making waves in the dairy farming community.

Living on her family dairy farm, Alexis recently attended the Young Dairy Network (YDN) ‘Cows, Courage and Curiosity’ conference in Wollongong this past May, accompanied by her mother, Natasha, who was also a speaker at the event. Here’s what Alexis had to say about her enriching experience at the conference:

“Mum and I went to the Young Dairy Network conference that was held in Wollongong. It was wonderful to see how much thought was put into each of the sessions. It was interesting to hear from a variety of farmer speakers who all had something different to share.

The keynote speaker was Sam Bloom, who was very motivating and inspiring. After reading her books and watching the movie, I was so excited to meet her! Even though a lot of people talk about the dairy industry being an aging industry, the room was filled with around 100 inspiring, young, and enthusiastic people all in the dairy industry. It was also nice to meet new people who love the dairy industry as much as I do.

I would encourage anyone who gets the opportunity to attend a similar conference to make the effort to go!”

Alexis’s experience at the conference highlights the vibrancy and passion within the young dairy community. The event not only provided valuable insights from diverse farmer speakers but also created an inspiring atmosphere where young dairy enthusiasts could connect and share their love for the industry.
