Primary content

DairyTas delivers practical and regionally relevant information to help improve local farm businesses.

  • In 2016/17 Tasmania produced around 835 million litres of milk
  • This represents approximately 9% of national milk output.

The three main dairy regions are the north-west, central north and north-east of the state, including King Island.

What is DairyTas?

DairyTas is a Regional Development Program (RDP) Dairy Australia established in the 1990s to deliver practical and regionally relevant information to help improve local farm businesses.

"It's through DairyTas that we see the value of our levy investment at an on-farm level. DairyTas tailors the information produced by Dairy Australia to ensure it is relevant to Tasmania, and it is useful in the day-to-day running of our farm."
- Duncan Sadler, dairy farmer
