This is an EXPRESSION OF INTEREST ONLY for the First 100 Days in Milk - Cow Nutrition and management for Optimal Profit Advisor Workshop

Pre-calving transition cow nutrition and management had been one of the most significant advances in dairy nutrition and production in recent decades.

But what about cow nutrition and management in the critical first 100 days after calving?

With very recent advances in the knowledge of cow metabolism and nutritional needs in the Fresh Period and Early Lactation, it is now time for advisers to upskill in this area and help Australian farmers obtain the gains on offer for cow health, fertility, milk production and farm profit.

Who should attend the workshop?

This workshop is for dairy nutritionists, veterinarians, farm consultants, stockfeed technical staff and territory managers, and other professionals advising dairy farmers on herd nutrition and management.

It follows on from the very successful Dairy Australia Transition Cow Management (TCM) workshop for advisers.

Advisers attending the workshop will:

  • Learn further aspects of pre-calving transition cow management (TCM) not covered in the DA TCM Workshop, based on the latest research.
  • Receive the latest information on feed intake regulation, improving nutritional balance and modulating inflammatory processes in the Fresh Period and Early Lactation.
  • Consider cows responses to supplements in grazing systems in Early Lactation and alternative concentrate feeding strategies flat, stepped, individualised.
  • Design and implement more successful feeding programs for cows in the first 100 days of lactation.
