Design Livestock Effluent Systems Course Returns in 2025



Dairy Australia and Agriculture Victoria are proud to announce the next edition of the Design Livestock Effluent Systems course, set to run in April and May 2025.

This highly specialised technical training is tailored for private service providers aiming to gain recognition as Effluent System Designers or those wishing to enhance their knowledge and advisory capabilities in effluent and manure management on dairy farms.

 

Course Overview:

The course provides comprehensive coverage of effluent and manure management for dairy operations, focusing on:

  • Design standards for effluent storage, treatment, and reuse.
  • Developing practical Effluent Management Plans (EMPs).

 

Participants will be required to:

  • Attend all training sessions.
  • Pass a knowledge quiz.
  • Prepare two Effluent Management Plans to demonstrate competency.

 

Certification and Recognition:

Successful graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion, co-signed by Dairy Australia and Agriculture Victoria. They will also have the option to be listed on the national database of Effluent Designers, providing professional recognition and greater visibility within the industry.

 

Details and Logistics:

  • Dates and Locations:
  • Block 1: 29th & 30th April 2025 (Tuesday & Wednesday) at Cobden Mini Railway, Cobden, Victoria.
  • Block 2: 13th to 15th May 2025 (Tuesday to 2:00 PM Thursday) at Agriculture Victoria, Tatura office.

 

  • Cost:
  • $1950 (excluding GST) per participant. Course fees are subsidised by Dairy Australia.

 

  • Participant Cap:
  • Spaces are limited to sixteen participants, with a potential limit of one participant per organisation if demand is high.

 

  • Catering and Travel:
  • Catering during training sessions is included.
  • Participants are responsible for their travel, accommodation, breakfast, and dinner arrangements.
